Should the policy owners covered auto be stolen or in an accident, rental car coverage, if available through your insurance company, will provide reimbursement for costs paid towards a rental car while the vehicle is being repaired or if stolen, while the claim is settled. 

Most rental car coverage plans have a limit per day and limit of total days covered.  For example a policy can show 20/30 under the rental car coverage limits.  The first number is interpreted as the limit of $20 per day and the second number would be a maximum 30 consecutive days of rental car coverage.
