Texting while driving has become an epidemic in America that has led 39 states and the District of Columbia to ban all drivers from engaging in the practice. Despite that, one survey conducted by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety indicated that more than one-third of respondents had read a text or email while driving at least once in the 30 days before the survey.
